Speedmaster Article by Chuck Maddox (iW magazine Dec. 2007)
Dear members of the WUS community,
It gives us great honor to host this article written by the late Chuck Maddox for iW magazine. The article appeared in the December 2007 issue, a few months before Chuck’s passing. This is a fantastic article that sums up basic information related to early Speedmasters and should serve as a great reference to all collectors.

Chuck was a pillar of the WIS community. He had a great deal of knowledge and passion for watches and was even more passionate about sharing this with anyone who asked. Regardless of who you were, a beginner or veteran collector, Chuck was willing and happy to share his knowledge openly and freely. It is in this vein, that we thought having this article freely accessible to all would serve as a nice tribute to Chuck. We are grateful to Gary Girdvainis, the editor-in-chief of iW magazine and Fine Life Media, who generously provided and granted us permission to post this material.
