Hey gang, since I got ten days off and can think of nothing else to do right now, except wash the dishes, get on the PS2, put on the "Glengarry Glen Ross" DVD, read the classified ads, etc, I thought I'd take a walk on the wild side and start up a database for us all to catalogue our beloved Omega watches.
I was thinking we could state model name and number (if you know it), followed by serial number and approx purchase date. If you have the original Warranty Cards that came with the watch, then it should all be real easy.
I'm not sure what the purpose is of this little exercise, but I figured that we may begin to build up an archive of 'year-of-manufacture-cross-referenced-with-serial-numbers' info for future generations of WIS's like us. If you can include model specifics like, for instance, auto or quartz and mid-size or full-sized SMP, then that will refine this database even further. This is primarily for modern Omega watches, since the info required is pretty readily available, but if anybody wants to include older or, even better, vintage watches in this list, then that would be great, since we may be able to get a better idea of when certain Calibres were manufactured.
Who knows, maybe Omega in Bienne will come to the WUS Omega Forum to check production dates, etc.
Since I like livin' on the edge, I may as well start.
