Long time listener, first time caller... Help me decide

I've been sporting dive watches on my wrist for 25 years (jeeez, time passes by) so I should be able to make decisions for myself, but with your permission I'd like to think out loud and get your input about an upcoming acquisition. At first I was thinking of adding a Doxa as a fun Summer diver, but the Aquadive watches really appeals to me with the 60/70-ies case throwback design, the large bezel like from a Ploproof and the of the 100-series seems about right for my 7 1/4 " wrist (writing this with a DSSD on the wrist but that is as big as I ever want to go).

At first I the simple 100N appealed to me as I generally like printed dials, but reading up a bit more the regular 100SS with the applied dial just comes across as so crisp and appealing. Add the better tuned movement at a still affordable price and we have a winner. Then I found the Gear Patrol review with the black DLC version and I found that very compelling. And then there is the bronze with brown dial... I never owned either a DLC or bronze watch so either would be fun and nice change-up.

The 100SS is, of course, the classic and safe choice. The black is a bit "tacticool" or dare I say Stallone/Statham, but there is something compelling about having a black what in the rotation/line-up. The bronze is the most original and all-the-hype so the question is if one tires of it?

Help me out here with some input and inspiration! If you could only have one Aquadive which one would it be and why? A favorite photo to share?

    Thanks,

    Patrick

If I could only have ONE, I would go with the bronze. Knowing AD like I do, I understand the hard work and dedication the staff put into making the bronze a reality. The brown DLC is ONE of a Kind, so in essence, you have a ONE of a Kind watch.

Another thing I took from your read was that you own a DSSD, as I owned a black dialed Omega Planet Ocean when I bought my bronze. I have since sold the Planet Ocean and fine with the Planet Ocean Chrono which also has a black dial.

The bronze still fits into my collection despite moving other pieces because of its unique look and dial, bezel cokor, which in your case would be a bit different to your black dialed DSSD.

Have owned the DSSD which I regret trading to this day and have the BS100 SS and it is a cool watch in the Aquadive tradition and if you could only afford one, I would agree wth Ariel and go with the BS100 bronze.

    Aquadive Bathyscaphe 100 DLC review

A few pics in a review I just posted of the DLC version, and a video as well.

I think any one of them is a safe choice, really much just a matter of what you like the best :)

Thanks for the input so far. I thought this was going to be easy, but it is certainly not. Black or bronze... I'll keep researching and noodling this!

We have the same wrist size and I have owned all the watches you have mentioned and still have the majority of them. The BS 100 SS is in my daily line up and I also like the vintage feel and look to it and I agree to the bezel being similar to the ploprof bezel. As I am not a dive, I prefer the BS 100 SS. I selected the BS 100 because I thought the 300 would be to big for my 7 1/4 wrist until I saw a 300 in person and the size of the 300 was fine for my wrist. I have the BS 100 SS and son will have the BS 100 bronze and lveo them.
