I really hope this becomes a watch that I would want to wear every day.
    + some more

If there is too much going on/cluttered it's lost the classic simple Chinese look.
I would prefer batons, possibly blue to match the blue hands.

    Re: Chinese Numerals

I can also agree with this. Maybe it would be more a dresswatch with Arabic numbers.
The idea of using a Chinese character instead of a logo is a nice idea, it wil fill up the space between the 12 and the big date. What can be a nice character?

I certainly agree that limiting the Arabic numerals (ie 12, 3, 6, 9 or 12, 2,4,6,8, 10 or similar) sounds really cool.

I just don't think you need Chinese numerals for it to be a Chinese watch. It seems to me a lot of classic (or at least classy) Chinese watches use either Arabic numerals or hour markers.

One idea would be to use a Chinese character in stead of a logo. That would address the "generic" look we would get because we are unable to use the Seagull logo.

I'm not saying I'm out if we use Chinese numerals but it seems to me that Chinese numerals turn this into a novetly watch instead of a really classy/ dressy watch.

i'm still supporting the cause of the markers instead of numbers, maybe just one number in chinese but that's all

    Re: Chinese Numerals

I didn't mind the option that was posted a while ago with having the Chinese "eight" and the rest batons and Arabic. But more then 1 Chinese character seems unnecessary. the guys above are right, I want this to be a watch that I want to wear and not just a novelty watch that sits in the box.

I'm happy to go with the majority here as long as, as others have said, it doesn't end up looking like a cheap novelty watch.
Like the idea of using a chinese figure at 8.
Would like WUS markings on the caseback (LE no's) and Dial too otherwise whats the point! Nothing huge, maybe something along the lines that Boschett did on the DWP!

    Cheers

To each their own :). I'd be happy with simple typeset Chinese numbers (fancy calligraphy font, not so much)
