2011 WUS Chinese Moonphase SE Project - DESIGN

Moonphase styling was chosen to represent the WUS Chinese SE Project, so please feel free to submit your ideas and opinions on this theme.

For those new to this project, the cost of this watch will be in the region of USD120 (not including shipping). Watches are expected to be completed and sent out in January 2012.

Ideas on case/lug size and colour, dial format, SE engravings, caseback (see-through or solid) etc. would be most welcome .

I guess we will use the ST2528 movement, which will imply some design restrictions.
I have one watch with this movement, and as the moonphase module is added on top of the st25, the watch is quite thick. So to keep the watch in balance, I would not go under 40mm.
As for the style, personally I would prefer simple and elegant. So CN-Marks prototype in steel will do nicely, perhaps with some Chinese or star markings on a white or silvery dial. Any other 'limited WUS edition 2011' type text could go one the back side. I wouldn't mind a view on the movement:

1. sapphire crystal is a must

2. case size ~40mm
3. nice tiny hands and classic styled not oversized numbers, I'm even thinking roman style
4. solid or seathrough screwdown casback with engravings , "limited wus edition and number", someone suggested "members name"
5. at least 50m water resistant, better 100m :)
6. for the moophase ring, I prefer a bigger one like on the cn-marks prototype to the regular model
7. I hope there will be a deploymant clasp on the strap

My main concern is the dial design. I really don't want any gold on it. And i want moonphase ring to be extremely plain (2 colors, no smiling faces). Also i think (it is my opinion) than polished case will make the watch looks cheap. Brushed will be so much better.
Well that is what i want, but as always life is full of compromises.

3) Lug = 20 mm
4) Dial = white; like CN-Marks prototype (China Made as in 中国 制造 or China Tianjin 中国 天津 on bottom/rim of dial and 海鸥 in the old Dongfeng font style instead of current Seagull logo)
5) case back= see through with WUS limited edition plus serial number engraving on metal rim
6) hands = like CN-Marks prototype (no brevet style or Dauphine (M177s) style hands)
7) dial = CN-Marks prototype l (no roman numbers)
8) wrist band = without

here are my humble thoughts:

1. 40mm round ss case (very very thin bezel so that the crystal covers the whole watch face - not sure whether I use the right words)
2. blue steel hands - something like those deck watch
3. moon phase - silver or gold color .. if possible having the Mr. Moon face ..
4. dial cream white
5. lugs 20mm or 22mm - classic lugs like those vintage dress watches .. straight out and curve and same level with the case back ..
6. see-through case back
7. blue seconds hand

Yeah i agree on the 40mm, and really diggin the blue hands on white dial, but just to be sure: it has to be a real moonphase, not just a day/night indicator

Agree with most points above

Another suggestion would be some applied, raised, blued chinese numerals
Similar to a Ball Trainmaster Cleaveland Express


So instead of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
You have 一, 二, 三, 四, 伍

Also blued hour, minute and second hands
But unsure if so much blue would be a little overkill

I like the idea of the chinese numbers, white dial blue hands as well. Has anyone thought about how the WUS logo will look? Also what kind of strap will be on it, I think I would like a brown leather with deployment.
