Confessions of a reformed watch addict

I thought I had kicked the habit......it has been over a month since I last strapped on/longed for a watch. Today a shifty man in a car near my village changed all that. The white plastic bag in the boot of the car seemed harmless enough, until the shape of the boxes inside reminded me of paradise lost. From that moment on resistance was futile.

I hijacked the guy in the car (I believe his name was Thomas) and made off with the goodies in the pouring rain. The humidity was not the only factor that made my skin slick with sweat. Now all I had to do was find a quiet place to do the dirty work! It turned out to be the Hong Kong posse's stash of WUS Chinese LE watches! They turned out a lot better than I expected, although don't get your hopes too high for the generic box and packaging.

Having a few problems uploading the photos and it is time for another milk run, so I will try and get things working later!!!! Funnily enough, the initial idea for this WUS Chinese SE watch coinceded with the conception of our beloved twins......although I didn't know it at the time. The completion of the watch and birth of our babies (a little premature) mark a new direction in my life.

Special thanks to Martin and William for making things a lot less traumatic and offering help when everything became overwhelming. Thomas deserves a round of applause for his enthusiasm and attention to details I would have surely missed!

Thanks to this forum, Ernie and the Mods for this opportunity to create what is truly a community watch. It is YOUR input which made this project work and hopefully you will all be proud to wear the final product and remember the joy, and sometimes pain, the past few months have brought.

Please post pics when your watch arrives......it will be fun to see what straps everyone will be using.

Time to go, the little dragons are already screaming in the background .

I have decided not to follow in your life of crime, I am waiting for a certain delivery man also. The power of the pen is more powerful then the sword. I will sign for the package and let him and myself get on with our day, no hijacking is needed.
I thank you and the rest of the team for starting and completing this project. To all the other 149'ers I wish you all well.

Congratulations on the new twins! Big thanks to you for helping get this idea off the ground. We await our shipment with sweaty palms.
Too many watches, not enough wrists.

Congratulations on a fine pair of... watches... you must be a very proud dad!

I guess this starts the picture thread, so we need some wrist shots. Let's see... you have two arms (I'm guessing), two beautiful babies, and two Chinese Mechanical Forum Project watches... Hmm... You'll have to press the shutter button with a toe.

Oh, and get used to that!

Thank y'all for the kind words.

No such luck I'm afraid. Still kicking myself for only ordering 2 watches......personal inscriptions for the little ones so definitely no wrist-time for Daddy. They (the watches, not the little dragons ) will be going into the safe tomorrow.

I know some people opted for EMS shipping, so hopefully newer, and much better photos, will be posted soon. My pics are crap already and I can't imagine the quality of toe photos .

Congrats and what a shame you only had two watches. On the other hand you can wear them in honour of your twins
    best regards,

Very cute babies! Congratulations! Sleeping they look like peaceful little angels - but I remember all too well that twins make more than twice as much noise, because when one starts crying, the other feels obliged to chime in. It gets better after a few months though, and later they make things easier by keeping each other entertained. Of course even later they can also wreak more than twice as much havoc: twice as many bad ideas and twice as much effort and determination to see them through...

Thanks again for all the work on getting us the watches! Also, to put a positive spin on it, these pics manage to keep the suspense alive!

One fine day those kids will be going about life with those watches strapped to their wrists; and the thought of the pic, that dear 'ol dad shot of them way back when, will make their watches that much more special
