After the long wait, here are the pictures! Fortunately the great HK pixel shortage is over, so big size :-!
I think the color is not always displayed completely correct but this gives a good impression.
As for the rest of the process, I will need to confirm the inscriptions everyone has chosen with Thomas. I already have a list with the ones that have been submitted to me, but I will write a PM to all (150 :-x) participants to verify. In case you read this before you get a PM from me, you can help by sending one yourself to me with the text you want, or that you don't want an inscription, so I can verify it with the list I have. I would hate to find that someone has an incorrect text on the back.
Of course only from people who have have been assigned a watch already. Only after this exercise we can be sure if we can honor one or two of the places to the people on the reserve list.
It should be the same color as the 1963, which is creamy white. I also think that the left part of the second picture and also the one with the coin represent it best.
For those who have tried to PM me but got an error, my inbox was full, but I cleaned out a few hundred, so it should work again.
Thanks to all who already did, it saves me a lot of time. I will answer all, but give me a day or so.
I can't seem to figure out exactly what the final decision on case-back text / inscriptions actually was. Could someone remind me and anyone else who doesn't remember what the final decision on standard text was, where the personal inscription goes, and how long it can be?
+1 . . . Could you please remind again how long the character will be? If I remember correctly the text (Inscription) on the case back will be in Chinese, will it not? And what else will be printed / inscripted on the case back besides our chosen text, please?
Very nice, Martin! The prototype looks much better than the dial sketches, with variations in all the right spots (IMHO): the lugs are definitely thinner, the bezel appears thinner, probably due to the rounded shape not being represented very well in the sketches, and the second track also seems to transition better into the dial (the dark ring was probably also a drawing artefact in the sketches). I'm so relieved. I was really afraid I would hate this watch. Thanks a lot for posting the large pics! Now, which Chinese holiday do we have to wait for next? I hope it's not the moon festival!
Uh oh, my "Chinese Mechanical Forum Project 2011", including spaces, is 37. Please let me know if that's a problem.
