Had a great meeting with Mrs Richter of Sinn Spezialuhren from Frankfurt during the BaselWorld exhibition. As Ernie already showed some Sinn watches, I keep mine restricted to the ones I like best. These are the 50th Anniversary Flieger ref.358 (only 500 pieces will be made, price 1900 euro), the Regulator and the EZM7 (for firemen).
A typical Flieger watch and definitely based on the ref.356 Flieger. However, the size of this watch is a bit larger and it has only 2 registers instead of 3.
Below a few pictures of the dressy Regulator watch by Sinn. Available in different materials and different dials. A large hand wound caliber based on the famous Unitas 6498 ticks away time in this beautiful timepiece.
And finally, the EZM7 or also known as Feuerwehr-uhr. Sinn had a watch for firemen in the past by the name or reference of EZM4, but this time, Sinn discussed the needs for firemen with some professionals and came up with the EZM7. The sub dials show how much time a fireman has to leave the building when toxics are exposed during a fire. A fireman's suite is only capable of resisting toxics for a certain amount of time, with this EZM7 this amount of time can be calculated per type of toxic gas.
Although Sinn is proud to have such a watch in their collection, they think it is a pity that most firemen aren't able to buy one and they are certainly not being purchased for them as part of the fire brigade's gear. Too bad that safety has a price.
