My thoughts on a new Doxa entry level professional

Im sorta new to Doxa and jumped right in and bought the 5000t Carib Cosc and thought it is alot of watch for the money. But now the problem is i want another more classic Doxa like the 1200 Pro. With the economy the way it is it would be a long way off for me to afford the 1200 or something close to it. Doxa should think about offering a more entry level model. Im sure if they deleted the hrv added a simpler bezel and offered it with only a rubber strap they could bring costs down to say the $1000 level. Just think of how many people would love having there first Doxa with the famous orange dial and incredible quaility and service. Or for the current owner of a Doxa that wants to add another Doxa to there collection. Anybody else think it is a worthy addition to the Doxa legacy? Maybe instead of adding it to the professional line of Doxa's you could call the new series something like Doxa 100 Freediver. And once somebody gets hooked on freediving and moves into scuba so to could they move into the Doxa professional watch, cause we all know they will be hooked on them also.

    WHAT?

If you want a Doxa for around $1k, keep an eye out on the Sales Forum.

I don't mean to be a d!ck, but this is watch collecting, not paperclip collecting. It's an expensive habit. Don't jump in over your head if you can't swim.

I mean, I'd like a $5 version of the AP RO but... something about "if wishes and buts were candy and nuts..."
Rolex Submariner 16800, Squale 1545 Root Beer, Omega Speedmaster, Omega Speedmaster Mark II, Seiko 7549-7010 Tuna, Seiko 7549-7009 Golden Tuna, Seiko 6309, Seiko skx031/62MAS Mod, Doxa 1200t Searambler, Doxa 1000t Sharkhunter COSC, Doxa 750t Caribbean, Poljot OkeaH, Chronographe Suisse 18k, Sheffield Calendar
    Supercomplicated.

Im not talking about paperclip collecting here but a nice basic $1000 Doxa automatic sort of a Aquaman for American market would be a good addition. It doesn't have to be Supercomplicated.

Maybe a folded mid/end-link bracelet with a simple flip lock clasp, plastic crystal, 200-300m wr, classic Doxa look. Sure, I'd buy one.

I think a $1000-$1200 Doxa would be a great idea. There are so many great watches available for around $1k it makes it difficult to commit to a more expensive Doxa but an entry level model would probably be all it takes to get some folks hooked on the brand. I'd be in for 1.

If DOXA makes a diver at maximum 1000$ with the clasic SUB design it's hell of a beater. It will sale in my opinnion as crazy.
    A 2824-2,rubber,non-ar sapphire 200m depth , that's done and you have a best-seller.

If other brands (maybe bigger than today's DOXA) can make it why Doxa couldn't?

Re: My thoughts on a new Doxa entry level professional

Personally, I think it is a bad idea. Here is why.

The more I look at my Doxa 1200t Pro, the more I realize that it really is a stunning piece!! The case is just so well done. The dial is amazing. There is detail there you don’t even realize till you study it!! In different light, the Pro just takes on new character. The ETA 2824-2 is an elabora grade, decorated by Doxa, the BOR bracelet is full quality and very very comfortable. HRV, good lume, and well executed bezel to boot!
In short the 1200t is a $2000 watch with out a doubt!!

I personally don’t think, selling out and compromising on their quality is what they want to do.
I just don’t think it is their business model.

Or compromising on what makes a Doxa, a Doxa. They are known for a hard core diving watch used by, real Professoinal divers. Real divers are not going to pick up a rubber strap only, 200 wr Dive watch, with a lower grade movement and no AR coated crystal.

I sympathize with others, but for myself, I waited 2-3 years before I finally said, (a what the hell, cha ching) and purchased my 1200t. I doubt I will be able to by another one, atleast not new. But I purchased mine before the prices were beyond my grasp.

But, look at Brietling, I don’t see them selling out with cheaper pieces. Their entry level Colt, is still about 2k and still a full quality watch. If they don’t sell out, why should Doxa??
