    Ladies Watch Automatic Movement

Looking to buy a small automatic ladies watch for my mom. My first choice is a Longines, any one know if the Longine movement L595 is any good? or is it just a normal movement? If so am I better off to save my money and go with a Mido Ladies Multifort? I know these two watches are on two different class levels - one is 18k gold compare to pvd, one has leather alligator strap compare to leather. I'm worried that I will be overpaying for a average movement for the Longines.

The Mido Multifort has a pvd treated gold color, do those wear off quick? The watch will be worn daily in a working environment, so I am expecting a lot of wear.

    Here are my selections:

    Longines Master Collection L2.128.8.78.3
    Mido Multifort M005.007.36.036.20

My budget is no more than $3000, if anyone can recommend any other small ladies automatic watch, leather strap with a better than average movement, that would be great. Thanks!

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either of the two you posted. Both use ETA or ETA based movements and will serve you well.

    Couple of ideas, both German:

Muhle Glashutte Lady City 99 - comes with leather strap as well.

I have a Muhle myself, and I love it - great quality and very reasonably priced. It runs on a modified SW 200, with their "woodpecker" regulator.

The Nomos has a totally in-house movement, and it's a beauty.

    thanks for the reply.

The Muhle Glashutte definetly looks good, I plan on buying that for my sister! But need to find a dealer that will ship international.
