Advice on uneven Alpina bezel insert

    Hello,

I recently purchased the Alpina Alpiner GMT, and noticed that the bezel insert is uneven. It is slightly raised between the 24 and 33 mark. I tried to capture the issue in the attached photo.

I don't want to return it since I like the watch. The purchase was fulfilled by Amazon, so I suppose I could send it in for warranty work with Assurion, Amazon's third party service provider.

I would like to hear some opinions on whether to leave as is, submit for warranty work, or attempt to fix myself, although I don't know how the bezel is affixed to this particular model.

EDIT: Since it was fulfilled by Amazon, they are offering me a 15% partial refund for the defect. Which would make the watch $590 net before 5% CB from my credit card. Which is why I am strongly considering keeping it.

    Thanks in advance!

Edit:. Here's another picture to give a little more perspective on the issue.

TBH I suspect bezel repair is not covered under warranty. Most watch warranties only cover the movement and maybe the dial. If the watch is brand new, your best bet might be to exchange/return and reorder.

That is obviously a defect if on a new watch. I would send it back.

Thanks for the advice and input guys. I just contacted Amazon, and they offered to give me 15% partial refund, effectively making the cost $590 before credit card cash back. Makes the unevenness a little more palatable. The seller does not have any inventory for replacement. Still considering a return though.

I'd go return. Won't get any easier since it's Amazon too.

you cannot press down with your thumb on the insert to make stay in the bezel's inner rim?

Thanks for the input... I actually tried that an hour or so ago and was about to report back that it helped...

In all honesty, if you have the option to return it, I would. I'm now 11 weeks into trying to get a replacement bezel insert from Alpina when my one fell out of a brand new watch when I was swimming , and I bought through an AD. I can only imagine the impossibility of trying to get a replacement if yours falls out or is damaged have bought through Amazon.

I would get a refund and walk away. Sure Alpina has some decent looking pieces but they are cheaply built. A combination of Chinese and Swiss parts with Swiss assembly. I browse many of the brand forums here and Alpina and Longines seem to have the most "issues."

I am an Oris, Tudor, and Breitling fan and can't remember the last thread where someone had a problem with their watch. Seems like everytime I come to the FC/ Alpina or Longines forum, there are always active threads about some form of issue.

I would recommend browsing the forums and then make an educated decision whether to stay or leave this brand.
