    New to Alpina

Received my pilot heritage today. Any reason why the crystal sapphire glass should be so sharp around the edges ?

Most other crystals that sit raised of the bezel don't feel like this.

Other question if I may, why does alpina not have a visible serial number on these timepieces. ?

Unless it was pressed in incorrectly, it should sit flush with the case.

Pictures of the issue might help with more responses.

Yeah I'll take a picture shortly. Most of the watches I've owned over the years have a slight raised crystal. So thought this is normal.

Here's some pics of the raised glass. It's all raises equally. My question is not really why it's raised but why it's so sharp. I guess cost cutting plays a factor. Either way a nice add to my starting collection.

It does look correct, slight edge, but uniform.

Mine have a bit of this too, but the edge is not sharp, just finished and tapered out with the rest of the crystal, so you might have just gotten one with a bit more of an edge than others but it should not affect the performance or looks unless looking at it with a loupe.

Hope you are happy with it. They are nice watches.
