Prior to the Alpina's the largest watch I had was 42 mm, with most 40 and under. I was a little concerned with the size, not so much how it will look, as I have pretty large wrists, but with how I my other watches would fair after I get used to this size. Well, that has turned out to be a problem. so far my 40 mm are fine, but anything less, starts to look too small !! I have some 35 and 36, they look like a toy watch on my wrist now. I guess if you wear them for a few days will be back to being OK again. We will see.

    Cheers
Love the look of this watch and Alpina 44mm wears very comfortable. I have watches ranging from 38 to 46 and have a hard time with anything under 42 now.

I wore a 38 mm Tag 2000 for 14 years that I loved, but since buying 42 mm watches over the past couple of years I find it harder to read and don't wear it as much. The thick bezel means the dial is closer to 35 mm. I also have a larger wrist, but it seemed fine until I went to a larger size. I guess it is relative. I now find 40 to 42 mm to be my preferred size. I would have bought a Seiko Alpinist if it weren't for the 38 mm size. Sounds like you are having a similar experience.
