Took the plunge today :) Alpina Startimer Pilot 44

    Hi All,
Newcomer to this forum and all thing watches really.
I've never been massively interested or even aware of the variety of watches & manufacturers until recently.
I have a Tag Heur Aqua Racer chrono from a few years back which I had massively neglected and left sitting in a drawer un worn. It had stopped so I took it to a watchmaker to have a look. I did not quite know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised when he handed my watch back after 5 mins after changing the battery.
I was a little confused and intrigued as well as I had assumed it was an automatic watch. So that led me down the google rabbit hole to here!!
After hours of searching and going off on various tangents I've decided I like the Pilot style watches and the vintage diver style.
I decided today to make my first Alpina purchase in a Startimer Pilot 44 AL-525B4S6.
    Cant wait to receive it!!!

Received the parcel from Gnomon yesterday afternoon so super fast service from them!!

    To the watch.

So far so good. I really like the look and feel of it. Love the sweeping second hand with the red triangle detail. I've never had an automatic watch before so its quite cool to see the movement doing its thing.
The strap is the only thing I do not like so much; it's too narrow at the buckle end for me and I think the fixed end could be longer so as to balance the buckle on the middle of my wrist if that makes sense.
