24 hr newbie has Yes Zulu - one incoming. Would appreciate your views.

Hi. I'm new to 24 hr watches. Have wanted one for some time. The Yes watches are the only ones I have come across that appeal to me. I haven't seen much discussion on WUS of these intriguing timepieces, but I have recently bought one - haven't received it yet but mucho looking forward to it.

Please feel free to share your YES watch experiences.

I have one and while it's a nice watch, it doesn't get as much wrist time as the mechanicals that I have. I think that I'm just more of an analogue guy. I was very impressed with the amount of stuff that came with it though!

Unless I am seeing things, it doesn't look like a true 24 hour dial to me. The top and bottom both start at 12; only the bezel has 24 hour indexes. Click on the photo to go to the hosting service where you can view a close up of the dial.

It's pure 24hr! That hour hand goes around once a day - there's 12 at top and 12 at bottom because one is 12am and the other 12pm.

You can see from the photo that's it's almost midnight (the 12 on the bottom). The black lines in the display show you when it's night. At noon, the hand would be pointing to the top.

I am a big fan of Yes. I have the Zulu, but I have to say that I really like Siv's version too.
My watch was upgraded with the new movement and hour hand as well as a true 24 hour inner chapter ring.
My only wish is that they made a more tactical/military looking version.

I like the 24hr chapter ring in your upgrade! What change was made to the movement?

I think I'm going to have to pull mine out of the watch box. Seems like it would be fun to take on holiday... but then I'll probably have to carry the manual too as it's not a simple thing to change and have the daylight thingy work as far as I remember.

The new movement has the updated Daylight Savings times in the chip. It also has some minor function changes. The larger tipped hour hand is easier to see also....

Just got mine in the mail yesterday. About 2yrs ago I actually re-dialed a 24hr mechanical to include summer and winter solstice bars. When I came across these I had to have one. Mines on an Invicta Diver bracelet as I felt it was most comfortable.
