On the 26th of July the constituent assembly of The Russian Watch Association took place in a conference hall of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russian Federation. More than 20 leading enterprises, engaged with watch manufacture, export, import and realization in Russia, have acted as founders of the association. The initiative of watch – makers has received comprehensive support of Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The main aims of The Russian Watch Association are constructing the civilized market attitudes, counteracting an unfair competition, representing and protecting interests of association members in government, providing cooperation of enterprises of brunch, defining strategy of watch market development, working out and realizing together with bodies of the government the Concept and the Program of development of watch market in Russia.

It is necessary to note, that for the past 8 years attempts of creating an association for the decision of the problems facing to watch branch repeatedly were undertaken. Until this day the market has remained one of few business directions, which does not have any branch association and any opportunity to provide its interests consolidated. In spite of some quite natural disagreements between various groups of participants a decision on creating an Association was made. The necessity of information change between professionals and the consolidation of opportunities for the decision of the problems facing to all watch-makers have won above group interests.

All companies have discussed the charter and elected directing bodies. 10 officials are elected into the structure of the Board:

Vice-Chairman of the Board - Malofeeva L., Vice-President of group company «Consul»
President of the Association – Prudnikov I., Vice-President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The assembly of the Association has charged to the elected Board to complete documents of the charter, to lead state registration of the Association according to the law «About noncommercial organizations» and to prepare the project of the plan of prime actions to the next assembly.
