I have this Concord transistor table clock which is not working, upon dissasembly and close inspection I found the faulty part, is the top gear that connects the power drive shaft to the escapement by means of friction between this pinion and a rubber disc in the escapement itself. So this gear is rusted and completely worn out. I have a friend who could machine the piece for me, but I cannot take it out.
So the rusted piece free floats in the tube and rotates as well if you press it down, the spring and the little yellow plate push it upwards where two little tabs engage in two notches in the gear so it locks in order to transmit the energy to the rest of the system.
So far I tried to remove this piece with no luck.
Do you know how to remove this piece?
