Dial cleaning on cheap quartz watches

    Hello!
This is my first post here, please be gentle. I searched for a section for general servicing but couldn't find one, I considered this one to be the closest.
As summer came upon us, so do the watches filled with water. I have a lot of customers that submerge the watches in water, although there are multiple warnings about not doing this
Usually the quartz movements survive and only need a cleaning (not done by me).
The problem here is represented by water marks that remain on the dials.
Can anyone recommend some cleaning solution? Most of the cases the water is chlorinated (from pools, cause where else to expose your 20$ watch than in the pool?).
We tried some solutions but usually they take the dials' paint away.

    Many thanks!

Water spots are generally there to stay. I've used a very fine brush and just a few gentle strokes, but usually don't touch the dial at all. In certain cases mold and dirt can be removed but with the calculated risk of further damage of the finish or paint. Results will be mixed at best. For a $20 dollar quartz it's probably not worth the effort.

Trying to clean the dial for a cheap watch can easily end up costing you way more than the watch is worth, as the film/print will come off very easily. Once damaged, the only recourse other than finding another watch with the same dial is to have it refinished. Damage by the repair person comes at the repair person's expense - definitely not worth it.
