    Re: Nice move guys.

Going back to the oil question:

According to ETA oil chart on 2824, there are only 4 different types of lubricants to use. And of those, 1 of them is a grease so there are only 3 different types of oil.

SO, can I get the Bergeon RED, BLUE and GREEN sizes of cups & oilers if I only work on the 2824? Or should I be getting different sizes or MORE sizes?
    My Rotation:
    Hamilton Khaki (2804), Khaki (2824) x3, Linwood (2824), Khaki (7750), Vintage (7750), Vintage Khaki King (2824)
    Fortis Flieger (2824)
    Seiko SCVS015 (6R15), SARB031 (6R15), SKX013 (7S26), SSB003 (6T63), 5M22-6C20, 5M22-6C30
    Tissot Carson (2824), T-Touch Titanium
    Many Self-assembled pieces
about 100 Casio watches from the 70~90's.

For that matter, I'm somewhat surprised that there aren't india-made glass oil cups at a fraction of the cost of the Bergeon models.

It's a piece of glass in a plastic container. How hard could it be to make one?

    Remember:

    Pie are round.

    Cornbread are square.

    And @1.57 are half-round.

Who wants pie anyway when you can have cobbler (BLACKBERRY!).

You will still need a cup for the grease.

You should never dip directly into the jar.....

What if i bake my cornbread in one of my cast iron pans?

(I also have some hexagonal pie pans. These illicit thanksgiving day questions like "How do you cut this?" and answers like "With a knife")

    Thanks!

But I still don't understand what size cups and tips to get.

    For tips, there are:
    extra fine
    fine
    medium
    large
    extra large

    and for cups they are:
    6mm
    8mm
    10mm
    and the list goes on.

What is the "right" size assortment for the standard three oil + one grease setup?

The oilers are cheap enough that I wouldn't mind just getting all 5 sizes. But the cups are expensive and there are way more than 5 sizes!

Those seem perfectly reasonable questions. What's illicit about them?

The size cup should be dependent how much oil you need. I use the smallest cups I can find (used), because I just put the smallest drop in the cup I can manage and when I'm done the 98% that remains get thrown out.

(I don't oil every day, so contamination is likely if the oil is left standing, even if covered, for several days...)

As to the oilers, their size governs ho much oil is carried from the cup to the movement. The smaller tips are used where the amount oil require is smaller, and vice versa.
