Life is leaning ... or Expanding my possibilities

... Moved this to practical watchmaking channel as I think it fits better there...

Recently I'm thinkering a bit about the next steps to go in direction of professional dial making ( single piece or small series off)

I usually plan my dials in CAD and realize them partially handcrafted with a good and solid CNC basement ( shaping and engraving)

What I achieved until now is to
    -manufacture the blank
-with feet in one piece ( much effort ) or to solder , screw or glue the feet on the dial
-drill holes for rivetting the applica or logo
    - 2D/ 3D engrave a dial
    - 3D routing objects on a dial mint like pattern
    - apply a rose engine like pattern using the lathe
    - color the grooves with acrylics
    - electroplate the dial ( copper and nickel and silver ( not that successful)
    - finish and polish flat structures
    - turn a rehaut ring
    - route applica
    - route logos
but its always the same - as soon as it shows success interest decreases to go further with the technique as the proof of process is done at that time

Now I'm not sure what else remains when it comes to new fields of engagement on routing dials

I planned a mechanically morphing dial but tolerances would not let me manufacture this for any existing watch .

What still seems to be open is a good coloring processual concept and to learn how to paint clean burst or fade effects on that size and with the necessary dryness.

but that is more or less the final paintjob and the laquer coating....

Any ideas / suggestions what next??? I love to solve challenges....!

    Thank you in advance.....

    Hj

P.S.: Strange understanding of "Reverse Engineering ":
It seems that I have some solutions, but it seems that there are no problems/ applications existing for.....
( or at least no market for single piece off efforts)

    Really nice dial!

So you used a kind of epoxy slur with pigment ingress which you stirred up??

    Short description would be appreciated!

MechaMind you just answer your own question
I experiment with epoxy, few different paint colors, paint thinner and small oiler to make it look
    different/stirred.

    Cool!

Since I do not have a muffle I thought about a someway similar thing ... to route a cloisonné like structure from brass fill up the the fields with slur
and color with pigments ( stir ) there are pigmets for coloring epoxy gelcoat but I just did not want to buy all that stuff for just an experiment - what kind of color did you use?

do not laugh modeling paint, aluminum dust to get the metallic tone here and there and paint thinner shot from old puffer for fx.
