Piece of Crap on the Dial

I bought a new Edox Hydro Sub Automatic last year from Ashford. I have lots of watches, so my rotation takes some time to get back around to different watches. Anyway, I wore it recently and noticed that there is a white piece of debris on the dial. It is probably 2mm long, so pretty big, and white! In other words, it is driving me crazy on the black dial. It almost looks like it could be some lume that has come off the hands, but it is not. There is no lume missing, and it does not glow. I did not notice it when the watch was new in time to return the watch for a replacement. It is running fine, but sometimes the piece of crap gets hung up on the hour hand and moves around the dial. I had it down in the bottom, so it wouldn't be noticeable, but now it is stuck right in the middle of the dial, and looks terrible. Also, I worry about it falling in the date window and messing up the movement. Anyway, there are just no watchmakers where I live in rural Alabama. I have read about taking the ETA 2824 movement out, but I am worried about messing up the stem if I don't do it exactly correctly, and I've never done this before. I also really want to maintain its water resistance, as it is the only 500m watch I own. I really don't know what to do at this point.

If you want to use Ashford for warranty contact them and see if they'll cover that. I'm sure there's a reputable watchmaker somewhere in Alabama otherwise. Search AWCI database to find one nearby, look for a CW, CMW, CW21 or CMW21.

I contacted Ashford, and they will fix it under warranty. I am also glad, though, to have the link you provided for my future reference. Thank You!

So, where in Alabama are you? Anywhere near me? I'm outside of Talladega.

I'm in Boaz, so not too far, but not too close either.
