Would it wait for almost a month to show up? Also, here in Alabama in winter it very rarely gets that dry, unlike in Iowa where I grew up.
I've just never encountered this strange behavior before. It is still running just fine since the reset a few hours ago.

I managed to ruin a nice (to me) Swatch Skin Chrono like this. They're very thin, plastic cased watches with not much to shield the movement from magnetism. Every time I forgot to keep my arm away from the uni library check out machines, the chrono hands would go nuts as the big electromagnet gubbins in the machine went "TOOOONNNNGGG!!!" during a scan.

Anyone know what movement it comes with, in case it's some kind of EOL type shenanigans?

editted to add - I mean the movement in the OP's watch, I'm not trying to hijack the thread for that old Swatch.

From what I know quartz movement can be momentarily affected by magnetism but it can't be permanently magnetized.

Well, it is still keeping correct time this A.M.
I did remove the battery and demagnetize it.

An obviously unimpactful event with regard to the permanent magnets in the stepper motor.

Can't seem to find any EOL mentioned for that movement. It was a long shot anyway - sorry hawkeye!
