You should be able to call around to some suppliers and see if they stock the jewels (hole and cap). Or, you could just buy another used parts movement and harvest the parts. I've had some luck finding these small parts by using a loop of wide shipping tape and patting the area where it may have fallen. Others have had success by putting some pantyhose over the tip of a vacuum and going over the area.
Good luck! We've all been there.
Need parts? Tech manuals? Serial Number lookup? www.watchrepairinfo.com
As noted parts can be ordered by calibre from various supply houses. Just specify upper or lower when you order.
Also, get rid of the carpet!
Cheers, Al
My recovery rate is pretty high, but only if you expand the time axis to include "weeks later, after I bought a parts movement, scavenged the missing bit, finished off the movement, and was on the floor looking for a different part from a different movement".
Case in point - the unset cap jewel from an Elgin 711 I lost for several months, till I pulled up the tape that held down my work surface. There is was, cute little red dot stuck to the tape....
