    New Member New GS

After many month of viewing pics of GS's on this site (and hoping one day to own one) I found a deal I could not refuse.
Pardon the low rate cell pics of my new SBGH-005 Hi-Beat.

Welcome! The SGBH005 dial is a fantastic watch which shows many aspects of Grand Seiko. I'm not wowed by high beat but it is a demonstration of Seiko's incredible manufacturing tolerances and prowess. My guess is that the cost difference in manufacturing the 28800 BPH versus 36000 BPH movements are minimal as the build quality and tolerances of both movements are insane. The dial on your watch is also representative of the subtle beauty of a typical GS dial. It seems mute and black indoors, and when hit by a point light source (sunlight), the incredible textural sunburst shows through.

    Beautiful piece.

Shame to see it get marred...

I wear my SBGX119 everyday, it took about 6 weeks to get the first scratch on the edge of the bezel. At lest the dial will stay fresh looking. GS dials are killer.

Beautiful watch, congratulations and welcome to the forum! I have its sister, the 001, and love it. To me, the HB movement represents among the best of what GS has to offer. That and the Spring Drive of course!
