After picking up a few quartz watches to start a small collection it seemed time to get my 1st automatic. (Started a bit late doing this at age 56 so the collection will never get out of hand ) The Victorinox Airboss Model 241505 really caught my eye at the local AD so I bit the bullet after negotiating from $895 down to $725. Exhibition case back, sturdy thick leather strap and beautiful cream colored dial with raised numbers outlined in polished (steel?) and filled with luminous light green. I set it with the official east coast time ( provided by the two time agencies of the United States: a Department of Commerce agency, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the U. S. Naval Observatory ). In the last 24 hours it has gained 6 seconds, which I hope will hold. This is all new to me and its fun reading about the movements, which is the ETA 2824. I see what people like about the autos. They seem to be "alive" in a sense and depend on us for care as they wear and need service. My wrists are not huge so the the 42mm width and 11mm height are a decent fit. I'll try to post a pic.
