The IAF watches had a finish that looked very similar to a "bead blast". The overall color of the case watch medium gray. This included the pushers and the crown. In comparison, your watch looks like it was polished or brushed and the color of the case is off? I enclosed a picture below, sorry about the quality its the best I have:

The case looks original to me, because of its "starburst" finish, typical of the Heuer Montreal of these years. The sides are polished, still like the 7750 Monty...the back of my watch is different tough: yours looks like the Pasadena model, while mine is exactly like this watch:

Mine doesn't have that serial number in the middle, but all the other writings are the same, including the number 1040, that I assumed it was the serial number, now I realise that probably it's the Longines model number.

Out of curiousity, did you have a look at the movement?Is it branded Longines? Mine doesn't have any markings, neither on the crown...

I miss the winged hourglass!
