OK, I spotted this Bulova and thought... I know this character! WRONG!
I first thought it was the Muntz cartoon character. For those of us old enough to remember the company and owner.
So for two or three weeks now, in my spare time, I've tried to locate this guy all over the internet. No joy, so now I'm asking you guy's, do you recognize this little dude?
I immediately remembered seeing this "gent" in my youth with your post. That same character was on the convenience store's sign across the street from my elementary school (this was circa 1968-72), we would flock there to get bubble gum packs with trading cards after school. My how times are different.
What is odd is the character's eyes are looking in different directions in products with the logo (or an even completely different character all together in some renditions). Otherwise it sure looks like the same drawing. That now-defunct chain did NOT seem to care much for consistency!
I'll be honest simpletreasures, i was hoping somebody would come in and get it because i had no idea, i was just trying to build up the mystery
I would have felt terrible if you were still waiting on me for the answer, so im happy the lads came in with the mail
The image is poor but that sure does look like your Mr. "Napoleon". The trademark has lapsed, sounds like you've got a business opportunity staring at you. :-!
Out of curiosity, is that even a real Bulova? The brand name being split like that around the 6pm mark seems strange.
Do you own that watch Simpletreasures? If so, is the movement Bulova branded? I'm guessing this is a mechanical (or maybe, but unlikely, an Accutron) watch based on when the store chain was in existence.

No it's not my watch tmathes, just one that when I saw it for sale caught my eye. It's a promotional watch, and yes it's real with the exception of the promotional dial, according to the seller. Hand winding mechanical from 1972 and not a accutron. Case is marked Bulova, and everything else is correct for a Bulova produced watch.
The first link you sent me is the "identifier" for the correct character. I contacted the blogger who wrote the blog yesterday and gave him the sellers info, he's really interested in purchasing the watch!
That's exactly what the Author of the Blog said!!!!!!!!!:-d
