Advice for chunky leather strap for Hamilton

    Hey everyone,

I spend most of my time lurking on these forums and rarely post, but I'd really appreciate a chance to pick everyone's brains on this. About two years ago I bought this from a member on here:

It's the 42mm Khaki Field Chrono with a set of aftermarket hands from Kobold. The case was bead-blasted by IWW. After I got it, I tracked down a Hamilton SS bracelet for it, which I also had bead-blasted to match. I enjoyed it immensely.

Now, I'm looking for advice on a great-looking leather strap. I prefer larger, chunky wrist wear as opposed to sleek, thin straps. I'll be honest, I gravitate towards SS bracelets because they don't require any...fashion sense on my behalf. I've pored over the galleries of several strap makers (Toshi, Greg Stevens, etc.), but I'd really like some specific opinions on what color combo/stitching/strap brand you all think would work best. I'd like some sort of contrast stitching, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks for your input and feedback!

    Best,

    Reg

Hirsch Liberty. Absolutely a high quality strap at a great price. And it screams "Field Watch".

Shut your mouth and wear your Alpinist.
Note that "Your Alpinist" is metaphorical and in truth refers to your most versatile watch.

How about this beaut with a little blue stitching to match the dial. (Assuming that watch is 22mm lug width?)

Crown and Buckle has some excellent straps. I plan on getting a black leather from them for my Hamilton (sometime soon).

What's your budget? I've got a couple of straps on order from Joe at snpr straps snprstrap. I really like the look of what he does and he can customize to anything you want. But he has a multi week waiting list right now because he's so busy.

FWIW, I have the Hirsch Liberty on my Bluering and it's OK, but I'm looking for something beefier.

    YMMV.

I'm pretty wide open, budget-wise. The Hirsch straps & the snprstraps look good. I'm with you--looking for something beefier. Do you have any pics of the snpr strap you ordered?

Thanks for the suggestions so far, everyone!
