    Best bang for the buck

I'm sporting the tauchmeister diver today and I must say it's a lot of watch for a little money

Re: Best bang for the buck

I got mine used for a song, so I can't speak to retail value... but it's a good watch. I think I paid $70, and all it needed was a new band. One company (Fullswing, I think) OEMs this family--1000m and 500m divers mostly with slight differences-- and it's sold by I think at least 5 different companies. Someone smarter than me tracks each variant, but Deep Blue is well known here and makes this exact watch with DB branding. So while the orange dial is a limited edition for Tauchmeister, it's easily findable as a Deep Blue

But for today's rainy weather, one that's probably an even better value if you catch it right. I paid $80 for this on rubber strap, and can't speak highly enough of the Mako and Ray. Hopefully prices on the Mako II and Ray II will come down to the <$150 range soon. I have two in the family and can see myself buying a 3rd...

I'd also point out that right now the Bulova UHF military line and the Victorinox Maverick Dual-time watches are going for crazy-low prices. Both are excellent fit and finish watches going for ~$150 or less. MSRP a year ago was >$300 generally speaking for both lines.

Very nice. It might just have to go on my "want" list.
