which speedy are you looking at? I can always lock in the price for it and have it put away in his safe until you want it.

This is an excellent post for a newbie as I am, IMHO. Pointing out the "dangers" of an out of the budget buying rush! Thank you guys for sharing your approaches, it will help to handle those almost irrational impulses as they raise from the bottom or my WIS soul...
So far I only purchased 3 in one year, all of them quite affordable autos (not a big budget at this time).
I took at least two months before pulling the trigger, and read as much as I can about the piece I want. If I still have the buying impulse after saturating my system with info about the watch in question, then is time to gather the money.
Cheers,
Guillermo

I know what you guy's mean. I've been spending quite a bit of money since November 2007 on watches. I do have 1 more piece to add to my collection and once done, that's it. We're planning on starting a family soon, so it would be one of those last purchases for quite some time. And most likely I will try to ignore the forum since I believe its part of the addiction.
Newbie question.... What is a Speedy?
Way too many watches to list these days but one is most meaningful to me...

My cigarette money is going strictly into saving for the Speedmaster Snoopy edition.
If I hadn't gotten hit with an unexpected car repair bill I would have bought it already.
Soon enough (next year...)
Money towards Snoopy Speedy Fund: (-$518) (got hit with a $2600 car repair bill!)
Packs of cigarettes not smoked: 57
Maybe this will tide you over? Kind of cool if you have a place for it.
