    Broken Timex - SR 927 W Cell

Hi, I have a strange situation with my watch. My watch stopped so I changed the battery which I thought was a little soon because I had previously replaced it less than a year ago with an energizer battery. I put the new battery in, and it still didn't tick. But then I noticed that if I had the stem part of the way out, it would tick, but not when pressed in all the way and screwed in place. Basically it only ticks when the stem is in "position 1". Any advice, is this a common problem? is there an easy fix I can do myself? It's my favorite watch. Thanks, Jay

Is it a chronograph, and also how old is it. If it is nearing 10 years old or so, it may require a cleaning.

Hi Thanks for the resopnse, it is a chronograph. It is probably 7-8 years old. How much $$$ should I expect to be charged for a cleaning?
