Not sure which Photon model you were considering, and it appears to be a solid watch with 316L SS, shock resistant, strong casing, superluminova, K1 hardened crystal, typically going for for less than $200 (on sale@Princeton Watches). I'm guessing, the Japanese movement is probably a (Citizen) Miyota movement...

For the same price range, have you considered a Seiko or Citizen....at least with these watches, you have a degree of certainty of the reliability of the movements they used.

The one that I was interested in was the orange dial Fallout model 6300B...

I own the Reactor Photon-C Chronograph 79015 and I find it a great, solid and reliable grab and go quartz watch.

Bought it from Amazon during one of their Yellow Light Specials for $99. Very solid feeling on the wrist.

I unscrewed the back for you and inside is a Japanese quartz movement marked "Miyota Co. 0520".

    Hope this helps ...
    Cheers,
    Marty

Hi Marty...nice pick-up for $99. I did an Amazon search this morning and don't remember seeing one in that price range. How long ago did you buy this on special?

They seem to be well-built...and their claim-to-fame is the superluminova/K1 crystal/sapphire/and the signature design case....at a very competitive price points.

I bought this Reactor about a year and a half ago.

Re: Can anyone tell me about Reactor Watches ?

I got two Reactors at Dillards during their close-out sale 2 years ago. A white Neutron and red Gamma. I found them both very good for the money, with amazing C3 lume. I had an issue with a poorly mfg'd strap screw that I couldn't get out and after some poor CS, I flipped them both for what I had in them. Not on account of the watch themselves but rather in a pissy mood over the CS. Still have a Heavy Water model I got at Dillards later for a giveaway price of $60. Like Invicta, some lookers but not so good CS will keep from any future buys

I own 3 and have been pleased with all of them. As far as CS, I had a battery die during the warranty (2 yrs). I sent it in on Monday and got it back the next Monday! They replaced the battery, seals and pressure tested it.
I thnk they are a great buy!

I have a Titanium Gamma..its a great beater watch, very comfortable..I think they are pricey for what they are. The style is great, the lume is great, but I wish there was a better movement in it. This watch is the only quartz I have ever had
That lost 4-5 seconds per month.. I have Invicta's that lose 1 second per year..

Re: Can anyone tell me about Reactor Watches ?

Wow!! I am shocked. I have 2 Reactor Watches, mine are their Initial Series, not the newer "Never Dark" with Tritium added. My watches are just the Super Luminova, and it is phenominal in the Darkness. I also own a couple of Luminox Watches, and the Lighting is different between the Brands. However, the guy who owns the company has worked for several of the Best Watch Makers, like TAG and a couple others, and decided to make a watch that would be for durability, yet still look very stylish, and be accurate. He told me the Movement was the same as the Seiko Quartz Movement. Japanese. Mine loses maybe a second a year, I truly never have to reset it, and keep it with the Time on Internet, from Denver Colorodo. They are Great Watches, with Great Customer Service. Built like Tanks, and I "Love" the way the Bracelette attaches to the Body, without "Pins"...rather "Mini Bolts"....
