Finding my Dream Day-Date Watch, and Claude Bernard?

I am looking for a slim/sleek 'vintage' or 'classic' style leather strap watch that can tell the time precisely. I'm seeking glow in the dark or illumination features and, perhaps most important, the day of the month and day of the week--something that has made my search rather difficult. Ideally, my dream watch is affordable (well under 300 USD) and has a sapphire crystal, though this crystal is not a mandatory criteria as it likely raises the price.

The closest thing to this dream watch is this Claude Bernard 84004 I found on Amazon. I can't tell from the images how slim/thin it is (haven't purchased it yet), and though it appears it is just perfect in every other respect, it unfortunately lacks a glow in the dark feature. I love the design but the function-obsessed part of me needs all of the features of this watch and a slim design and illumination.

Anyone know of watches that are similar to this one, with slim faces (with thinness much like skagen watches) and illumination?

Also, does anyone know about Claude Bernard watches? I can't seem to find much information on this manufacturer's reliability/durability/quality/reputation, etc.

    Looking forward,
    DB

-- Edit: missed the part about day of week being a top priority - feel free to ignore my suggestions below ;)

I really like the look of the Junkers and Zeppelin Thin Line watches. I believe they are about 7mm thick with quartz movements, and 11 if you want to go automatic.

They have SuperLuminova hands and markers, so they should glow a little at least. Price would be ~$270 or so for the quartz models. Automatics will add a bit to the price.

    Why isn't skagen an option?

The Seiko SNZH35K1 has day-date, sapphire and is enough under $300 that you could buy a very nice strap to go with it.

In general, it is very easy to switch to a leather band from a bracelet. Most jewelers and watch shops will do it for you for around $5.
    All that glitters isn't chrome.
