Re: G. Gerlach - Made in Poland

I got mine today. I am not so happy. The watch head is nice. The bezel won't center but I can learn to live with that. I ordered the white faced version and the black strap and they sent me the brown strap on the watch. I absolutely hate the white and brown combo. Then I try to put a black 1 piece Maratac 22mm strap on and it will not go fit in the gap between the spring bar and the spring bar holder (strap attachment part). So I can't wear the watch until I order a strap that I think will look OK. I really thought the watch would work with nylon and I don't understand why it won't.

If someone has a black strap that they would like to trade for the brown one please send me a PM with your address and we can trade.

I get to stare at a watch I can't wear until I resolve the strap situation.

That really sucks, and I agree don't like the brown strap with the white face.

However, it takes some squeezing but I have put a NATO on mine several times now. Set one end of the springbar, slide the strap in, then fit the other end of the springbar with your tool. After the first time it's pretty easy. Maybe the Maratac is that much thicker though, don't know.
    Regards,
    Tim

Just got mine today...My first automatic and it looks great. I didnt realize that Automatics actually made a noticable noise when on your wrist..I am assuming its just the inner workings self winding it..but it works great so far(at least for the last hour ive had it on :) . I will try to get pictures later. its got the brown band on it now but it also came with a Black band so sometime i may try to switch them out just to get different looks to see which I like better. Love the Lume looks great in the limited exposure it had to light and then going into darkness. Oh my Bezel centered well pretty much dead on. My wrist is so small I needed to add a couple holes in the leather but luckily I had my handy leather punch around and that worked well. Oh got #098

You get both straps, because it was supposed to be your birthday gift

    Folks,
As we have told you that we will share some guts - this is a complete photostory how each watch is made.

First and most important is a 6Sigma workshop organisation you can observe
It is a kingdom of Svedos.

It is he, who maked each and single watch you wear. He is assembling a dial to the movement.

    Next step – hands.

While working, there is a several steps when Svedos is cleaning the parts and surfaces with compressed air.

Steam is cutted to demanded lenght, polished, and connected with a crown.

Next cleaning with compressed air, and we put a movement with dial&hands to the case. Then steam, movement ring, holders and screws are added with right order and care.

Now cames the moment of truth – is all is fine, well mounted and lined. If the crown works as it shall, if the date works (yes, P52/N97 has no date window, but all has a date module. And not having a window does not means that it should switch non-existing date while Sun is rising
Then steam works OK, hands are fine, date switch works, and crown screws down – last and final touch of compressed air and caseback is screwed to the case.

Now testing – each of the watches goes into the testing device.

Now it is time for observations – if all works fine. Usually it takes 48h. After that, strap is attaced, and watch goes to the box.

    This is how it works.

It is not sealed with silicone, as it has an o-rings that seals the case. But casenack o-ring is always covered with silicone for better protection for pressure, aging and heat - for this watch it is normal that can be heated in the sun up to 40-50 deg. celsius while sun bath, and go down to 18-20 deg C in a second, while jumping into the water.
O-ring system in crown, steam and tubus is secured with technical grease instead of silicone.
This is a standard service procedure for each piece.
