I usually don't like divers, but the dials and smooth, rounded bezels are pretty awesome. I guess they are made in China? Unless you literally meant there's a watch factory in Poland...
We can all guess the likely source of the machining of the cases and that doesn't bother me. The ability to machine 316 to a tight tolerance is not reliant upon nationality, and given most multi-axis machine tools are robotic (and also made in China) they don't particularly care the nationality of the person pushing the buttons either.

What impresses me is that these are not catalogue cases - no one opened a FullSwing catalogue and said "I'll take that case, with that dial, and those hands...." as we see in so many "affordable" divers today.

While the style of this particular watch isn't my cup of tea, I give a lot of credit to the four guys in Poland who drew up the case design, found a manufacturer to build this unique case design, along with sourcing the dials, hands, crystals, etc.

Best of luck to them and I look forward to seeing what is next on the horizon!

It's not really unique as it borrows heavily from the old Vostok Amphibia...

But, I see this as a nice homage so no problem .

Our goal is to make the things as the first in Poland. First diver watch is just a beginningof this process.
I keep my fingers crossed! Tatras, "Goralu, czy ci ne zal!", John Paul II - I guess so many national symbols for Poles anywhere... I like the Hamilton's Spirit of Liberty http://www.righttime.com/HAMILTON/JA.../h32566791.jpg or Christopher Ward's Battle of Britain http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6105/...bfe134da66.jpg ....

That's exactly true, I fully appreciate the work done by these Polish WIS members and truly find this awesome and fantastic. They are the real WIS since they CREATE and DO not just talk. Carry on men, you are wonderful.

That doesn't mean much, most factories can make a custom case for you, you just need to show them a design and agree to their minimum order quantity. Ditto for hands and dials.

Actually I must tell you, that you inspired us in something.
Our next project is a "tought" watch, to be used where U need it. It will implement all that is need to be in use. Gerlach mountain is a VERY good icon to conmemorate it. Solid, rough, tough. Just like our watch. The Gerlach Mountain - sounds good enough for me

Ryeguy : thank you As a wise man said, we keep on walkin' ...
Guys, really - go to our web and Facebook profile, and leave your ideas there. There is always something new to be applied, just as curiousMan did. Our "tought" watch will be called "Gerlach Mountain". Just like that. It was your idea my friend, and we will do it.

Hey IanC I don't get your point but I have an idea: why don't you make your own design, choose the factories, produce your own watch and then start your own thread and report to us how easy it is to make a brand new watch from scratch?

That way you can report based on FACTS and EXPERIENCE rather then based on theory or other people saying which may or may not be correct. In any case, they have a product to show which is something outstanding and more then 99% of the people can accomplish.

Actually, Ian is trying his best - he made some conceptuals, asks a questions, looks for a paths - we are always pro!
We can even help, if we can.
We are a foundation - a non profit organization that goals to relunch a watchmaking industry in Poland. We all have a jobs, money to spend for living, but we have decided to spend some of it to make something ... just ... cool
    We love it.
    You can love it.
If someone don't ... well ... it will not kill our fun of making something inspiring.
