on a side note. this is a dangerous, dangerous hobby.
I agree this is VERY dangerous. I picked up a Blue Mako just because it was on sale for under $100 on Amazon (back up to approx. $140 today):

Uhh, good luck with that. I had only owned maybe 5 watches before joining WUS and came here ONLY to look for an affordable Submariner homage. Well, suffice to say, I contracted the WIS virus, and multiple watches later . . . {SIGH} and straps, let's not forget all the wonderful straps!! Another addiction in itself!

Talk about WIS virus. It's a brain disease. What is wrong with me? I am becoming oddly fascinated with '70s vintage watches. Maybe I have so many nice clean modern watches that I want more funk on my wrist. I paid for these two (bargains) in the last couple days from different vendors ('Bay and WUS.) The Omega will need some lovin' from my watch doctor. Sheesh I gotta stop, but it's so much fun.

Omega Geneve (liquid tonneau television dial) and Enicar Sherpa Star (tiki volcano watch)...

I second that! I had 3 watches before signing with WUS (I think signing with WUS was the first mistake lol). The original purpose was to snag a one-of-a-kind hand engraved Margrette that I MUST own, and now I've had at least 14 come and go through my collection, either giving them to friends and family or reselling them. I don't think there will EVER be a watch to stop the craving! There are so many styles and so many great looks that can be derived from a good looking watch!

I have this moon phase on the way.

FWIW, aluminum is pronounced a-loo-min-um. The other word is actually spelled aluminium, hence the different pronunciation.(the reference earlier in the thread made me google it) I have heard it pronounced both ways.
