Pen JOSHUA & SONS - Dual movements

I received this morning this very nice dual-movements Joshua & Sons

It's the first time I hear from this brand

I placed my order last week ; it only took one week to arrive from HK to France

It's a FP Journe "Octa" homage.

    Datas :

Joshua & Sons Stainless Steel JS-05-10 Moon Phase Automatic
    Limited Edition Beige Dial

    Case Stainless steel case
    Thickness: ~15mm
    Diameter ~45mm (without crown)
    Movement 23 Jewels, Automatic (self-winding)
Dial Beige Dial with two white subdials displaying two
    time zone with moon phase
Hands Blue and White tone, hour, minute, second,
    luminescent
Face Scratch proof with sapphire crystal
Back Transparent; Limited Edition xxx / 888
Band Original Genuine Leather with butterfly buckles
    Water Resistant 5ATM (~50m)

    Accessory Free Gift Box

    On to the pics :

Very good initial impression. Heavy watch, stainless steel case

    Onion crown on the right…

… regular crown on the left (signed J&S)

Deployant clasp… usually, this type is a royal pain… that one isn't too bad

The tiny date window (the date is set on the first position of the left movement's crown)

On my 17,5cm wrist, the watch is big, but not insanely huge

For each version (beige, blue or black dial), you can choose whatever strap you want (blue, black or brown).
I went for the blue one.

    Box :

    The other versions :

and the proposed straps (to be specified, when placing the order)

    Available at agfwatches

A really nice watch, quite unusual

There was a problem on mine : the left movement doesn't work (the barrel spring might be broken)

I immediately contacted agfwatches, who responded shortly after.
    Communication was good.
He offered to send a new watch, if I accepted to pay for the shipping costs (8$).
That was the simpler solution, so I agreed.

I asked if he could send me the blue dial model with a brown strap, which he accepted

I'll keep you posted on the further progresses.

Til now, even with this slight setback, I'm very pleased with this purchase

The seller advertises this watch as having a moon phase. Is it a true moon phase, or a day/night dial?
If I had more arms it wouldn't take me as long to get through one rotation.

The FP Journe "Octa" is list priced at over $80,000! Beautiful watch, intricately designed, crafted and manufactured but for most of us, its the ultimate grail!

    Not an "affordable forum" watch!

I'd be very interested if it used automatic and quartz movements instead of two automatics. You'd have the best of both worlds.

Great review and pics Reno. I always enjoy reading your reviews. I used to own a Joshua&Sons watch. It was quartz however. It seemed decent enough. It is actually one of the ones I kind of regret selling. It was a great watch for $50.

    It's a day&night (24h mode) indicator

    Indeed

To tell the truth, I really don't like those "hybrids"… actually, one thing I love in mechanical watches, is NOT having to bother about a battery

But, in this case, with one of the two movements down, a quartz module might have been a better option
