    NERSD quartz/tungsten/sapphire $70 ???

Here's a funny watch for you:

Here's the fleabay description and by all means I don't know what NERSD is or where they come from, though I suspect low-cost country origin:

Material: Genuine solid Tungsten Carbide case and band
Finish: Rose gold plating case, Rose gold and PVD black plating band
    Case size: ?
    Watch Size: ?
    Weight: ?
    Condition: New
    Model No: BMTW007
    List Price: USD 1249

It looks like a woman's watch!
But we do like tungsten carbide + sapphire!

I quite like the colour. Not sure I would wear it but a nice colour anyway.

A little bit of google-fu later and I think I found out who they are:

    Accuratime Industrial Co., LIMITED
    http://accubest.com/tungsten-watch-bmtw007-p-210.html

    Got a little more detail:
    Price $110
    Water resistance = 3atm (30m)
Band is tungsten carbide also with 316L stainless butterfly (double buckle) deployment
Movement is by Seiko, at least for the gold one above, this one says "Swiss" on the face.

As you can see, they go by "Pango Jewelry" and also "All Elite Products".

The item I was looking at is fleabay #110317929476

On the Accubest webpage they have models 1 to 11 (this one is #7), except for #9. Hm, what is #9? It turns out that it's a chronograph:

    http://accubest.com/mens-tungsten-ca...hes-p-180.html

    Price $259
    Named: Bestdon (?)
    Bracelet: Tungsten
    Movement: Ronda 8172 Quartz
    Crystal: Sapphire
    Crown: Push/pull
    Clasp: Push button dual deployant
    Bracelet Measurements: Men's 8-1/2" L
    Case Measurements: ?
    Water Resistance: 10 ATM - 100 meters - 330 feet
    Model Numbers: Men's BMTW009056CN
Warranty: Limited lifetime warranty provided by Accuratime Industrial Co.,LIMITED
Additional Features: Watch comes packaged in a watch box with instruction and warranty information.

I could sure do without the diamonds, but I think I must have one of these tungsten/sapphire combos.

That price may seem a little dear, however see for example LumTec M6,M7,M8:

    http://www.lum-tec.com/m_tungsten

    M6 Price $475, M7 Price $495, M8 Price $485
Series limited to 100 each for 2009

What is the SII auto mvmnt. Lum-Tec uses?
I guess it's Asian (chinese?) or they'd say otherwise.
Tungsten is totally cool so I'd say that's not a bad price.
Totally ridiculous for the e-bay watch to IP tungsten.
    Defeats the purpose.

    Re: NERSD quartz/tungsten/sapphire $70 ???

Hi...I have owned this exact watch for upwards of a year and want to say it's for real! It keeps excellent time, had excellent wear characteristics...even rivaling those of my 3 (yes ) RADOs for which I gave $700, $1100 and $2200 respectively because they are "scratch proof." Scratch proof is definitely an exaggeration. The $2400 (list) Chrono complete with tungsten band has a 'minor' scratch across the bezel - from what I don't know. Anyway back to the NERSD. My friends have complemented several times and when I read the earlier posts I started inquiring as to what impression the REALLY have of the watch. Their responses centered on its appearance as "a man's dress watch." In any event it has not sustained a scratch nor as much as a scuff at this point in time...

As far as quality (I have over 40 various watches) I would rate it an 8 based on my experience. As far as 'bang for the buck' I would DEFINITELY give it a 10. It you won't more for your money anywhere I know of.

Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this forum. It is 'right down my alley' as the saying goes.

    Bill
