Have a black monster and its really grown on me. Two issues for me though. First is lack of hand winding and second is accuracy. It is the least accurate of all my watches and runs fast but sure that could be resolved with a visit to my local watchmaker

Hi. I had to google the word 'anachronism'. Awesome! There is a reason to visit WUS that doesn't tick... Which I've tried to explain to my wife.

Afterall, they all serve the same purpose.
If you read the forums it seems like they're everywhere, but I've only ever seen one in person. And that was at some ripoff Chinatown jewelry shop in San Francisco. Have yet to ever see anyone wear one. Of course I say that and as soon as I get mine I'll probably see them everywhere.

    -Black one is better
-It's an automatic which is annoying when you need the actual time to be accurate to a minute or two (public transport)
-You might end up selling your other watches

If you do buy one, please get one with the bracelet.

I can only think of two reasons, one with a stock strap and one with the bracelet. The stock strap is very stiff and not too comfortable. The Monster on a bracelet can be heavy to those who aren't used to it.

Oh yeah, I highly recommend paying the extra up front for the bracelet, buying the strap version to save a coupla bucks and then deciding to get a bracelet is not a smart move...I know from experience. The bracelet is terrific but if you don't like bracelets you can take it off and sell it.

Got mine yesterday and I wore it on the bracelet. I have to admit that it felt pretty damn heavy after a few days of wearing my SKX013 on a mil-series strap.

Today the OM is on the same olive mil-series and I'm loving it.
Shut your mouth and wear your Alpinist.
Note that "Your Alpinist" is metaphorical and in truth refers to your most versatile watch.

They are really iconic, WIS-type of watches. I think a lot of people end up owning one at some point of their watch collecting career. They may or may not fall in love with it and keep it for a long time, but you really can't go wrong giving one a try as they hold their value well.

If you like the looks, I can't think of any reason to buy an OM. The bracelet is a pain to resize, but that certainly is not a good enough reason not to purchase it.

$189.75 on Amazon right now. Why try to save $40 with a used watch? Just pull the trigger on a new one ;)
