Smile running out of time, need help.

Next month i'm turning 40. No big deal but a nice occasion to buy myself a new daily beater. Need some advise because you guys out there are the real experts. I want a dressy clean faced watch with a classic look but with a rugged and durable twist. I like automatic because i never owned one. Like Seiko, Citizen.
Size about 40 mm. I love leather but that can be solved afterwards. My modest budget is about 200 dollars and i live in Europe. please help.

I you looking for a new watch so for your price range there are mostly Seikos or Orients that are reliable automatics. Can't even list a pictures because there are very many models like you described. But I suggest you to look for a nice preowned Hamilton Khaki Automatic.

    Omega SMP 2254.50
Swiss Army Victorinox DiveMaster 500 LE
    Hamilton Jazzmaster
    Hamilton X-Wind
    Oris TT1
    Orient 300m Diver CFD0C001B0
    Amphibia 1967 LE
    Citizen Eco-Drive BL5290-59A
    Seiko Baby-Monster PVD SNZF53K1

maybe i'm asking to much. I like Seiko and Orient but i want a new one. Not to flashy but with a classic look but on the other hand i need a Diver kind of tougness.

I'm far from an expert; in fact, I'm a newbie, but I'm a newbie who researches a lot. From my limited knowledge, an automatic that seems both classy and tough, as well as being fairly affordable, is the Hamilton Khaki automatic, as said above. (I don't own one, however, but I might).

A new one from an authorized dealer is above your budget (I'm guessing in the range of $340?), but you might be able to shop around and stretch your budget, or find one used.

I tried to get a photo from Hamilton's site, but it's flash-based. so here's one from eWatches:

Hamilton is a great watch IMHO. This is my favorite Hamilton, which I think looks great with both shirt and tie as well as jeans and a t-shirt, the Khaki Navy:

New, they are out of your price range, but you might be able to pick one up on a sales corner in your budget.

    Cheers,
    Griff

I think the field watches are a good option. But I've been into Orient lately, so how about a couple of those?

This one is a dress diver that I own and I love it. Comes in blue CER1A002D, black CER1A001B and white CER1A002W.

This one is a GMT. The second hour hand is not independent, but the 24 hour ring rotates. Comes in black CFE04001B, blue CFE04003D, and white CFE04001W bracelet and leather.

Although I have my Orient Mako on right now, I will second the Hamilton Khaki auto. I have a khaki quartz as my everyday watch... works great on a bracelet or band and looks great in a variety of situations.

what do you think? what would you pick AND why???
The Citizin is more modern but has nice features but I don't know much about the ECO_DRIVES. Seiko is allways a good pick en the SANDOZ?? Where can you find a similar watch with sapphire and all??
