[quote=Craig M;1316891]I actually just got my first SL piece...I paid 100.00 for it shipped from world of watches and I must say I am rather happy with it. It's a quartz chrono with an ETA running the show...

Are you sure it has an ETA Movement?
Or does it have a Swiss Ronda movement?

Very easy to confuse the two.
I hope it has the eta tho, I might snag one if thats the case.
    My Humble Collection:

    >Omega SMP Chrono
    >Seiko Orange Monster (semi-beater)
    >Citizen Diver NY series (beater)
    >Poljot P3133 - 2001-A
    >Marina Militare PAM Homage - PVD
    >Invicta Swiss Sapphire chrono (Ronda Quartz 1/10th sec.)
    >Lucien Piccard Auto Skeleton. - Wifes
    >Invicta Ocean Ghost Auto/Miyota(Extreme beater)
    >Invicta Skeleton (same Seagull Automatic movt as the LP) - Wifes
    >Seiko Perpetual - Wifes
    >Swatch - Wifes

    On the radar.

    Re: Swiss Legend quality?

They are SNBC's new Invicta like brand.

3 years ago it was Invicta
    then cam Renato
    and now Swiss Legend.

They look decent, wouldnt drop more than $150 on one personally.

    or SWI for that matter....

    I live in Miami
and the Invicta, Renato and SWI headquarters are up
in Hollywood. I am sure they all have alot in common, cases, movements QC etc....

    Angry Re: Swiss Legend quality?

I have a T Touch since 2002, push button was down after 2 years, I had them repaired for 200euro (not cheap) and they are broken again 4 years after. T TOUCH is definitively not a quality watche. In addition, I tried to contact TISSOT about it, they never answered me. No, definitively TISSOT claim to make quality watches, which are high priced, but their are indeed of poor quality and the service is inexistant.... it's all about marketing.

How does this connect to the Swiss Legend subject? Tissot has nothing to do with them...

    Re: Swiss Legend quality?

I recently acquired my first Swiss Legend piece, their Neptune diver.....

I've only had it for a short while thus far but I have to say I am rather impressed with it. The quality is apparent and it has the most comfortable rubber strap of any watch I have (that has such straps). Only time will tell as to it's longevity and durability but so far I am plenty happy with this purchase.

I have not had a good experience with the the reliability of this brand. Out of three SL watches I bought new, two of the quit working in fairly short order. All are automatics, and the problems both had to do with the winding mechanism being excessively "stiff" (and in one case becoming stuck completely). Makes me suspect the care in assembly and quality control. I definitely would not buy another at this point!

    Re: Swiss Legend quality?

My one SL adventure was a tungsten model with the "Swiss Movement" CL888. The watch was nicely made and cheap for tungsten/sapphire crystal but the CL888 was a lemon, as the second hand froze, staggered, and jumped its way across the dial right out of the box. Timekeeping was not impacted, but it was obvious that the movement had been poorly assembled and that QC was non-existent as anyone at the factory who tested this watch for thirty seconds would have seen it should not have gone out the door.

Anyway, sent that watch back, avoided them since. Like Invicta, they don't have a free cost warranty, as the minimum factory service is $10 plus you pay for shipping. I would say: a) avoid getting an automatic from them, and b) buy from a vendor with liberal refund policies.

IMO, Swiss Legend basically is the next up-and-coming Invicta - Chinese manufacture, grasping at Swiss heritage connection, claiming vastly inflated list prices so you can always get a huge "discount" in purchasing. Arguably the watch world needs only one Invicta. so you may want to consider whether you want to enable SL in their aspirations to more lucrative mediocrity...
