I don't have that exact watch but I do have 2 Timex analog e-Compass watches.

When calibrated they are quite accurate and a great backup for a good liquid filled field compass.

    Cheers,
    Griff

Interesting - how do they work? Does the compass dial actually rotate free like a regular compass?

Too many watches, only two wrists and never enough time...

The compass needle is actuated by one of the pushers. Like any compass the watch needs to be level to give an accurate reading. The compass operates for ~20 sec IIRC. The Timex variant also allows declination adjustments.

Eddie, glad to hear you made it out of the woods OK I wear one of my compass watches whenever I am with our Scout troop camping or hiking. I also like to use them as a teaching tool, including some of my solar compass models that require aligning the hands of the watch and bezel with the sun. I also teach the guys how they can use a regular analog watch to do the same. As a result, more guys in our troop now wear analog watches

    Cheers,
    Griff
