US to UK shipping (Watch received, with pics!)

Sorry if it's the wrong part of the forum. I'm waiting on a watch from the US from a WUS member, coming from CA. Anyone from that side of the US shipped to the UK? How long does it usually take with USPS? It's been 9 or 10 working days 2 weeks all in all. I can't wait to get it!

It is the holiday season so shipping will be extra slow. It also depends on the method of shipment. Regular Air Mail takes about 8-12 days (a lot more during this time of year). Priority usually takes 4-6 days. Also keep in mind that most of the delay happens at your customs.

I always seem to get a tracking number with USPS - did you get one?

The guy said he didn't get a tracking number. Maybe I should call customs in the UK and ask if they have it? I should have paid the guy extra to ship it priority as it was an affordable watch and a little extra on top of the price would have been worth it.

It should have arrived / be arriving around now, but mail is slowing up because of Christmas. I would expect it to arrive this week, but wouldn't be concerned if it didn't until several days after New Year.

That's put my mind at rest a little thanks. It's my first mechanical watch so I'm a bit excited.

I've had things that have arrived in a week and others that have taken close to a month. It really does seem to be a bit of a lottery I'm afraid.

You do? When I ship internationally they don't give me a tracking number for Priority. Well I get one if I print a label through eBay/Paypal but it's not helpful since it doesn't update once it's out of the US. I was told only Express has tracking.

My Mako from the states took an absolute age to arrive 18 months ago but perhaps the mistake was asking my sister to ship it to me... I thought it was gone for good and she lost the tracking number and receipt so when after 7 weeks a surprise package unexpectedly arrived one day I was happy to receive a forgotten Mako.

Point being that I have bought a lot from the states over the years and it is a lottery when it comes to shipping time, also try not to have a family member ship for you. lol.

This is indeed the case. I'm tracking a part sent to me by a forum member on the West Coast of the USA. The item was last updated over a week ago, and the tracker page says (roughly) "last seen in Oregon"....
