Which watch should I get..decisions, decisions, decisions..

I am looking at two watches a Citizen Nighthaw and a Tissot PRS 516 Auto. I like both watches. I am just asking for my fellow WUS WIS opinions.

Get the 516. I absolutely love that watch. Unfortunately I tried it on in person and thought it looked terrible on me.
Shut your mouth and wear your Alpinist.
Note that "Your Alpinist" is metaphorical and in truth refers to your most versatile watch.

Definitely the Citizen. The Tissot just looks too generic.

    I'd take the Tissot

    • The Nighthawk has the 24hour center hand, whose sole purpose, it seems, is to clutter up the dial. I guess it could be useful if you're a person who grew up with 12 hour time and is now living in a world that uses 24 hour time.
    • I believe the Nighthawk has a mineral crystal and the Tissot has sapphire (you'll have to confirm that)
    • I think they got the crowns backwards, at least for righties. The one that is easy for a righty to get to while on the wrist is to set the hands. The one for the internal slide rule is on the "wrong side" for a righty. Quite awkward to get to without taking the watch off.
    • The Tissot is just a much cleaner design. The only thing I don't like his how they marked the seemingly non-rotating bezel with minutes. That's kind of dumb, IMO.
    • I love the pixelated hands on the Tissot, and also the bright red seconds hand really pops out at me

Nighthawk just so you can do math on your watch.
"Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small unregarded yellow sun. Orbiting this at a distance of roughly ninety-eight million miles is an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea ... Two very different styles...but the nighthawk dial is too busy IMHO, unless you really need the extra features. The Tissot does look kind of generic though.

isn't the nighthawk like half the price of the tissot? if you like them both the same just get the nighthawk then
What good is all the cash, if it doesn't buy time?

Citizen Nighthawk, cheaper and great bracelet. Plus I agree that the PRS516 looks generic, I prefer the quartz chrono version.

The two watches on display are different like orange & apple. The first one has Chrono function plus 24 hr format. [ citizen styling is rather confusing ]. The Tissot only has Triple date & automatic movement. It depends on what you are after.

I have the same PRS516 as pictured and can say that you will definitely not regret buying it. Check out my pseudo-review somewhere on the Tissot forum. It's a beautiful watch that can be dressed up or down. Exhibition caseback is very nice and the fit and finish of this watch is excellent. Elegant yet masculine. Refined yet sporty. My favorite from my collection of 2 lol. But I'm a one watch kinda guy ;)
My watch does a lot more than just tell the time...
    it tells a life story...
