    Alpha flagship mod

Would it be possible to put a hand wind / automatic movement in the Alpha Flagship? It's a quartz I know it has a chrome case and is probably not worth the trouble but I really like the style. The sub seconds probably won't help matters either.

Anything is possible for the dedicated watchmaker, but I doubt if it would be worth the effort. You would need the hands to fit the pinions of the movement, and the stem to be the right length, and maybe you would want to swap the crown onto the new stem. And would the sub-seconds pinion line up with the hole? And if you desided to go with no seconds or centre-seconds then you've got to fill in the hole. Remounting the dial would present a few issues, too. If seen several simple quartz watches in which the dial is fixed to a substantial plastic movement holder, whereas with a mechanical movement you would want the dial to be mounted on the mounting points ...or you could just use an adhesive substance, but if you get it wrong then you've got a crooked dial (I speak from experience here ).

Instead, I would recommend a late-model classic Shanghai ZSH for that kind of elegant style without the pain of modification.

Thanks. I guess I already knew the answer. Just a shot in the dark. I guess I'll go against my better judgement and risk excommunication by buying a quartz

What is the function of small hand at 6:00 o'clock?

It is a dual timer, so I believe the small hand is a separate hour hand to keep track of time in different time zone

I thought it was just the sub seconds since there is not a main seconds hand.
