    Breytenbach or Other Moonphase

    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on the Breytenbach brand? I stumbled upon them while looking for an inexpensive moonphase. They use a SeaGull movement, which I don't know much about, other then they seem to be well respected on this site. The movement in the watch I'm looking at is the TY2528. I googled Breytenbach, and also searched for them on here, but couldn't find much.

If there's any other Chinese moonphases (or if you have one the the WUS watches you want to sell) let me know. I'm not looking to spend too much because I wanted to start saving for an older model PO, but feel free to recommend whatever. I also saw a brand called Perpetual that seems interesting, but their moon phase is sold out right now.

This is the Breytenbach I was looking at:

Obvious mushroombrand. Germasian watch with a fake brand history and fictional biography, rebranded Sea-Gull movement and 100% Chinese. In my opinion worth <$100. Get a Sea-Gull branded watch for a more satisfying purchase.

I'd recommend You this: Made by SeaGull Automatic Moon phase

I had it for a while (till my WUS LE Moonphase came) and reviewed it here:, then I sold it. But my opinion is that the quality is just as Seagull, as I own a lot of Seagulls and can compare it.

    Thanks for the replies.

The SeaGull looks really nice. I hadn't considered it because the only pic I saw was the computer rendered one on the site, and it looked pretty plain. I really like the dial detail on it. I also like the non branded watch, but I'm not a big fan of the text on the dial. Thanks for the recommendation though.
