My VCMs – Part 37: 迎春 & Tianjin

I’ve had this Yingchun for some time now.

I like it, condition issues and all.

It features the "correct" ZTZA movement.

We have seen a number of examples of Tianjin brand watches with a J dial, but have you seen one with a B dial?

This is the only one I’ve seen. I was curious about it, because even though it is a Tianjin brand watch, the black striped dial and the indices remind me of some Yingchun or Zhufeng watches. The back is plain, and the crown is unmarked.

Of course I tried to open it to see what movement is inside, but in spite of all of my attempts the back will not budge.
    hked and ultarior like this.

I've never seen a B dial and I don't even recall a blue logo Tianjin either.

Both watches are terrific and I've always liked those thin lined dials...they remind of the lined paper I used to use in school . Nice bracelets for both of them, too!

Both look good, but I particularly like the 迎春!

Do you wear all of your watches Jon?

With a very few exceptions, yes. I wear some more often than others, however. This Tianjin has received a lot of wrist time in the past couple of weeks, but the watches I wear most frequently have SS1 movements.

I tried again with the 7120 wrench and was successful.

A Tianjin brand watch with a ZTZA tongji? Normally I would dismiss it as a replacement movement, but everything about the watch, other than the brand name on the dial, says Yingchun.

I have a blue logo white dial Tianjin with a signed caseback. And a later quick beat ST-5 movement with Seagull stripes. But I don't remember if I posted images on the forum. Mine has no letters under Zhongguo Tianjin, and has a correct 'FANG ZHEN' under TIAN JIN. My other red logo Tianjin also has a ST-5 movement, but an earlier one with no stripes, and a blank caseback. Jon's Tianjin is the 1st one I have ever seen. Congratulations!
