…the same caseback (even the 301 batch number is the same)…
…the same Chunlei crown …
…and the same decorated SS7 movement. The only difference is the date code: ED (April 1978) instead of EE (May 1978).
This Budlet was too similar to the first, however, because it too was DOA.
On opening the watch I noticed there was a loose screw under the balance. It fell out easily, and now the watch functions normally.
Also from Shanghai is this 7221 with an uncommon bezel.
The quick-set date is set by turning the crown in the outermost of its three positions. The caseback is different from the flatter casebacks of Shanghai tongji watches without date.
The date code is FH – August 1979.
