    New Fossil Skeleton Watch

I purchased this Fossil Skeleton watch today it's model ME1026. Still trying to figure out who makes the movement, any ideas? How reliable are they? According to Fossil they have a 11 year warranty. I paid $175 which is a bit more than I wanted to spend. It took some digging but I finally found it on the fossil website and they are sold out. Seem to be sold out everywhere on the web as well. After about 4 hours of wrist time it still seems to be spot on.

I have a Fossil Skeleton from the early 90's. It's mechanical and still keeps good time. I am currently trying to find out the model so I can sell it.

A picture of the back would help nail it

Looks like the undecorated skeleton based on a version of the standard 'movement'. Not sure which manufacturer produced it though.
One of the gurus will probably be able to give you more details.

Front and back crystals and the watchband say FOSSIL.

No doubt it does but FOSSIL doesn't make movements. They design the watches and put whatever movement that best suits the watch. The movements can be from anywhere; Switzerland(ETA), Japan(Miyota) or China(Dixmont Gangzhou or similar).

In this case the movement is from one of the many Chinese watch factories that produce inexpensive movements for whoever needs them.

Here is the same basic movement in a Shanghai skeleton...

This is a higher quality 19 jewel movement...all for less than $18USD

A few different manufacturers make it but I believe it is sold as a 2560S movement.

    Invicta 17 Jewel pocket watch

I recently purchased 3 used 2650S movements and there are some descriptive markings on the back that I can't remember right now and also two of the three had jewels on the mainsprings (like this PTS 2650). I will post pics when I get back home.

I try not to post too much from work. But most pictures are blocked (imageshack, photobucket, etc.)

But I was on Holiday for the past week and was relying on using my relative's computers. Just got back tonight. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

    Cheers,
    gigfy
