Thumbs Up Review of my new Triconstore.net Luminor Homage

First, a little word about the seller.

Triconstore.net was also known through eBay as triconshop, changed to panhom_store and finally to triconstore01. He is a Hong Kong based seller that sells mostly sterile Panerai homages. I would venture to say the seller is looking to sell IWC and Rolex homages as well. If you snoop around on his website, you will find the sections for this are already there.

The seller’s website is brand new, and I was his very first customer since he opened it.

The seller was very communicative throughout my buying experience, responding to my e-mails in a very timely fashion, even with the 12 hour time difference. I would rate his communication to be as good or better than ThatManBush.

You’ll find his prices are actually cheaper than ThatManBush for his luminor homages with the sandwhich dials.

    On to the watch!
    MEASUREMENTS
    Diameter w/o crown :43.90mm
    Diameter w/ crown : 49.44mm
    Thickness : 14.61mm
Crystal type : Mineral front and back, domed front.
    Lug-to-lug (tip to tip) : 53.9mm
    Lug width :23.96mm
    Movement : Sea-Gull ST3600 (Unitas 6497 Clone with a higher beat rate)
Strap : Not bad at all really, quite thick, at the moment it is very stiff but it came from outsite where it is -22°C right now.

    PICTURES
The packaging gave me a small chuckle. It was wrapped in a bubble enveloppe, followed by a cute cardboard box with the words « Just for you » on it. Inside the box the watch was covered by several layers of bubble wrap, a plastic bag and it had the traditionnal blue plastic on the clasp, protective film on both crystals as well.

    The watch itself :

The face of the watch, very well printed for the seconds marker, nice and clean sandwhich dial. Notice the usual « REG T.M. » is missing, which makes it even more « sterile ».

The back, showing the seagull ST3600 in its full glory.

The obligatory wrist shots (6,5’’ here, ladies and gents)

And, of course, a lume shot! (taken with an iPhone 4S, which isn’t exactly well suited for low light conditions).

    COMMENTS
The shipping was extremely slow, the seller wanted to skip HK post’s holiday rush and gave SingPost a try. According to the seller, he mailed it on the 11th of December. Tracking information started showing up on the 13th. It seems to have left Singapore on the 16th, then, radio silence.

It turned up out of the blue this morning with no tracking updates whatsoever, neither from SingPost nor CanadaPost. I do not blame the seller for this as once it leaves his hands, he has not control over that.

The brushed case is beautifully finished, the lume is quite bright even if the pictures do not show it well. Since it’s the middle of the day here I can’t really comment on it’s longevity though. The strap is already softening up as I am typing and feels quite confortable. The winding, setting the time and the crown guard all work perfectly. As expected, the crown guard does get in the way of my sausage fingers for winding, but that’s part of the style, isn’t it?

Overall, I am a very satisfied customer. The watch looks and feels good on the wrist. I was afraid the Luminor style would be too big for me, but I find it just fine, even on my small wrists.

Nice looking watch! Thanks for the info. I have the same trepidation about the PAM homages that you had. Maybe I should reconsider.

Nice review. I've got this one (rubber strap) from them on the way. It will be my 4thPAM homage I think. I've sold all the others. Maybe this one will stick.

Did you buy from eBay or the website?

This looks very nice. I like sterile dials, the clean look is aesthetically pleasing and a great way to go with a homage. I bet you love that movement, I know I love the 6497 on my U-Boat; It so so robust feeling and it feels like a rock. Congrats!

Impressive, this one has a nearly 58 hour power reserve! (Ten more minutes and it would've been 58)
